Here on Angst, Atheism and Arpeggios I like to update on a daily basis with all kinds of junk to brighten up your day and give you something interesting to do for five or ten minutes. But I didn’t update AT ALL last weekend, so, yeah, sorry. Consider this my apology for letting you down (slightly, maybe).
Whether a troll or a satire or a serious article, this is a funny way of revealing the core of stupidity around which the Republican Party is based. Because even if it’s fake, you know that there are probably Republicans who think this.
A little less LOL now. This guy is now officially over dealing with the complex but horrible social issue of rape because some straw feminists ticked him off and he doesn’t like the way one of them presented some stats. Or something. Go see for yourself, Google for some responses (here or here, as starting points), generally wash your brain out with the soap of rational feminism after reading that. It’s important for your faith in humanity.
Ever heard of a blog called ‘Dispatches from the Culture Wars’? Well, if you’re looking for some amusement it’s a good place to go for your daily dose of wingnuttia. Like this, or this, or this or even this. Jesus, you’d almost think that the American right-wing is made of bigoted, sexist stupid ass-hats. What a crazy thought (unlike saying that the new Defense Secretary belongs to a terrorist group that doesn’t actually exist, that’s sensible). That last article actually worries me: Marco Rubio is supposed to be the Republican Party’s answer to its limited demographic appeal, right? Well, if he is the candidate that a majority of Americans will actually vote for then I weep for the USA. People who say things like this should not be president of a secular country that already struggles with separation of church and state.
